Valletta
The fortified capital: baroque streets, small cafés and quiet evenings.
Best for
Culture and character, if you don't mind stairs and limited rentals.
Malta
Malta's small, honey-stone capital and the harbour towns around it. Most remote workers live across the bay in Sliema, Gżira or St Julian's and come into Valletta for cafés and culture. English is an official language, which makes settling in easy.

Remote workers who want an English-speaking, sunny EU base with an easy social scene.
Low-stress for most visitors; St Julian's (Paceville) gets rowdy at night, and traffic is heavy around the harbour towns.
